In the state Senate, mainline Democrats and former Independent Democratic Conference members continue to figure out their new relationship. Meanwhile, everyone in the chamber is focused on next week's two special elections, with the closest race taking place down in Westchester. If Democrats take a win in both races, that could persuade Simcha Felder to leave his alliance with the Republicans and put the Dems in a numerical majority.
