The Working Families Party is moving ahead with its support for Cynthia Nixon's gubernatorial campaign and Jumaane Williams's campaign for lieutenant governor even as some unions are defecting from the party and Governor Cuomo is distancing himself from the groups that are staying. Party leaders voted to endorse the two Democrats currently challenging Cuomo and Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul in a primary. But if the incumbents win that primary it could put the WFP in a precarious position in the fall.
