A group of business owners, local officials and activists from the Finger Lakes are fighting back against a plan to build a trash incinerator in Seneca County. Circular EnerG LLC is seeking state approval to construct the facility at the former Seneca Army Depot in Romulus. It would be able to burn up to 3,000 pounds of trash daily, and opponents say that trash would likely be transported up from New York City. They are also concerned that the incinerator would be too close to a school and to Seneca Lake, posing both a public health and economic threat to the region. Joining us to talk more about that are Michael Warren Thomas, the host of Grapevine Radio, and Joseph Campbell of Seneca Lake Guardian.
