Julie Chapman is the weekday morning anchor at Spectrum News. You can see her bright and early every morning at 5 a.m. Julie is a proud charter member who helped launch this news channel.
Julie is an award-winning news broadcaster with more than 25 years of professional experience. She has been an anchor/reporter at network news stations from Binghamton to Baltimore. Julie was born in Upstate New York and is now happy to raise her two children surrounded by family.
Julie earned her master’s degree with distinction from The College of Saint Rose. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from The State University of New York at Cortland. She has been honored for excellence in broadcast journalism and television production. Julie also worked weekly at Johns Hopkins Hospital on award winning health reports for NBC News Channel.
Outside of anchoring news, Julie loves to give back to our community. She has been the emcee for numerous charitable events. She has hosted The Girls Inc. Empowerment Gala and Albany’s Festival of Nations Diversity Celebration for several years. She loves the beauty of upstate New York and the people who call it home.
