Ice and flooding forced some people in Vienna out of their homes Saturday morning.

Along with an ice jam in Fish Creek, rain and warmer temperatures caused snow in the area to melt causing serious flooding.

There was so much water it forced itself onto the roadways, icing over in some parts and into people’s homes.

The Sylvan Beach Fire Department says they want the community to know that it is not safe to go back for your pets or belongings and that they are sending crews to help get them out.

The American Red Cross has set up an emergency reception center at Vienna Methodist Church on Route 49 with meals, water and blankets to assist families.
