ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. — An Oneida County family is seeking justice for their loved one after they believe she was wrongfully convicted.

Kaitlyn Conley was found guilty of manslaughter in the first degree for the death of 60-year-old Mary Yoder. It's an offense that could put her in prison for up to 25 years.

Since her conviction, the family has received dozens of supportive letters and cards in the mail.

This spurred her sisters to begin a Free Kaitlyn Conley campaign.

They're hoping, with the community's help, these letters will illustrate Conley's true character during her sentencing and the appeals process.

"She's so appreciative of the fact that people are willing to take time out of their schedules to remember her, to advocate for her wrongful conviction and just so she knows that she's not being forgotten, that there's an entire community standing behind her," said Shannon Conley, one of Kaitlyn's sisters.

Conley is scheduled to be sentenced January 11. It's expected that her attorney will file an appeal soon after.
