TOWN OF SALINA, N.Y. -- The woman hit by a car in the Town of Salina Wednesday morning has died from her injuries.
Investigators say 49-year-old Jasbir Chadha of India was walking along the shoulder of Hopkins Road when she was hit by a car headed the opposite direction.
The sheriff's office says Chadha was in the country visiting, and was eventually reported missing by a family member who called 911 after she failed to return from her walk.
The driver is cooperating with detectives as they continue their investigation.
So far, no charges have been filed.
