The Syracuse University football team is nationally ranked for the first time in 17 years.

The Orange are ranked 22nd in the Associated Press Poll and 24th in the Coaches Poll.

On Saturday, SU upset then 22nd ranked North Carolina State in a shootout 51-41.

NC State ultimately fell from the top 25 rankings after the hard fought loss.

The game was nationally televised, giving voters a good look at the Orange.

SU is now 6 and 2 on the season and 5 and 0 at home.

They'll be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Wake Forest. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
