Jimmy Clements is showing the entire Irondequoit community what it means to be an Eagle, on and off the field.

"He's part of the student council here at Irondequoit, he's an Eagle Scout, he's the captain of the Football team. He's just an all around wonderful kid," said Irondequoit head coach Dan Fichter.

Clements leads the defense, starting at Middle Linebacker, a natural fit.

"He's a great leader, he leads by example. He's polite but when he gets out on the field he plays like he's angry," said Fichter.

"Ever since I was a kid I loved playing defense better. I used to joke around with my parents I'd rather hit people than be hit," said Clements. "I watched my older brother play Middle Linebacker an I always looked up to him as a player and a role model so it's cool being able to do the same thing he did."

Jimmy also following in his older brother's footsteps by becoming an Eagle Scout. Putting in hundreds of hours towards his academic, athletic and scouting commitments.

"It was tough but just some days you had to stay up late doing homework and stuff, but it was worth it," said Clements.
