UTICA, N.Y. – A second candidate has officially entered the race for the open 22nd Congressional seat.

Former Oneida County Legislator David Gordon announced his candidacy Wednesday evening at the Central New York Veterans Outreach Center in Utica.

Gordon says while he may be the underdog in the race, he believes he is the right man for the job.

"I would attract to a lot of the millennials, people my age who are in the early 30s, later 30s, who are just sick and tired of politics in general, sick and tired of political gridlock and they’re looking for someone who can relate to many of their issues,” Gordon said.

If elected, Gordon says some of his main priorities would be assisting veterans, getting rid of red tape for small businesses and reforming the current banking system.
