Utica is already striking some gold before St. Patty's Day.

On Monday we were given a behind the scenes tour of the brand new Irish Cultural Center, located at 623 Columbia Street.

The 23,000 square feet. building, in the brewery district of Utica, will become more than a center point for Irish heritage,  it will embrace everyone in Utica.

Inside is an event center, the 5 point pub, and a museum.

The project is making an impression with the people building it.

"There is a lot of different emotions here," said Project Manager John Sullivan. "I wish my mother and father lived long enough to see what we have done here. They were both from Ireland and I think that they both would be very pleased and proud."

Unfortunately, the Center will not be open for St. Patty's Day, but is expected to open some time in May.

On St. Patrick's Day the Center will be open from 1:00-3:00 p.m. to host a job fair. The center is looking to fill over 40 positions.
