Syracuse police say a store employee who shot a robbery suspect Friday night will not face charges at this time. 

The incident occurred at the Alibaba Market on Wolf Street around 7:45 p.m. Friday. Syracuse police detectives say the suspect busted into the store with a handgun and tried to rob it.

An employee fired shots at the suspect, and the suspect ran away.

Officers say they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds on Lemoyne Avenue. He is in critical condition.

The names of the people involved have not been released. Detectives say they are in the early stages of their investigation.
