An arrest has been made in the shooting that killed 12-year-old James Springer.

According to the Onondaga County District Attorney’s office, Johanen Pizarro has been booked and charged with second-degree murder, second-degree attempted Murder, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree. He is expected to be arraigned in City Court Friday morning.

DA William Fitzpatrick says a news conference may be held later in the day with more information.

A man was also taken into custody in October, as police arrested 22-year-old Alberto Pinet and charged him with second-degree murder. Pinet was later released, though, after video surveillance showed he was at another location at the time of the incident.
