For the first time ever Niagara Falls, on the Canadian side, is hosting an international fireworks show.

The pyrotechnic show, "Cascades of Fire" includes teams from six different countries including Finland and China.  The show began Friday and was a success.

Saturday, organizers reported that one of their employees was injured while cleaning up.

Since Friday people haven't seen too much of the show.

Two of the three events this weekend were postponed due to weather, but still plenty of people flocked to the city.

Businesses in Niagara Falls, on the New York side, say the event boosted foot traffic and sales.

"We have a lot of locals coming in and making reservations," said Kaitlin Principe of Red Coach Inn. "They're coming from all over Western New  York to see the event"

However, spectators like the Wojtan family who planned to watch the shows this weekend say they felt their time was wasted.

The family from Hamburg booked a hotel after Saturday's show was canceled, and later learned Sunday's show was cut as well.

"It's kind of the main reason we came this weekend," said Larry Wojtan. "We're disappointed."

The competition is scheduled to continue on Friday, November 16th.
