Local agencies doing their part to make sure voters have no excuses when it comes to getting to the polls.

Uber and Lyft are both offering free or discounted rides to polling places.

The Syracuse NAACP is doing the same.

And Central New York YMCA's are also offering free child care.

The candidates also want to see high turnout.

Those in the 24th District were taking full advantage of their last day to get their message out.

Democratic challenger Dana Balter spent the day with volunteers making last-minute calls, while incumbent Republican John Katko used the day to eat lunch with people in his district.

They want voters to know they need to get to the polls.

"Listen: I am an optimistic guy by nature, but I'm not immune to what could happen, so I am just going to see what happens tomorrow and hope everyone turns up to vote, don't take anything for granted,” said Katko.

"Ok well first of all, if someone is not thinking about going to the polls, I want to encourage them to go. Tomorrow's election is so important. There is so much at stake in this country. We want to make sure people have affordable health care, making sure our communities are safe,” said Balter.

While early voter turnout is at record levels nationwide, New York does not allow it.

They do however have absentee ballots.
