Students at Syracuse University danced for 12 straight hours for Ottothon.

The yearly dance marathon raises money for Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital.

In order to participate, each student had to raise $100 — but the donations didn't stop there.

Each hour had its own goal, with creative ways to reach it.

They even had a jail that dancers get sent to, and the only way to get out is collecting more donations.

Halfway through, the dancers walked to Upstate Golisano and did a “Morale Dance” outside the hospital.

Student organizers say the best part is seeing the kids that benefit from the money.

"The beautiful thing about the kids being here is they inspire us every day to keep going," said CJ Santosuosso, Ottothon's emcee. “They're the reason we're out here dancing in the first place. Seeing the children that we’re helping or have been helped because of the work, what else can you ask for really?"

Last year, Ottothon raised more than $150,000 for Upstate Golisano, and their goal this year is to break $200,000.
