Community members got the chance to meet Syracuse's next police chief.

Incoming Chief Kenton Buckner, alongside Mayor Ben Walsh, held a meet and greet forum on Saturday.

The public filled the City Hall Atrium to talk to the chief about their concerns.

Top issues included police and community relations, as well as the epidemic of youth violence.

Buckner most recently served as the Little Rock, Arkansas's police chief. Those we spoke with say they like the idea of a new perspective.

"Well I'm actually excited because it's time for a change. We got to do something to curb all the violence and corruption, it's got to stop," said Wanda Ross, Syracuse resident.

Buckner will replace Frank Fowler who has been chief since 2010.

He was selected after an eight month search process.
