Ryan McMahon will take the oath of office Friday morning as new Onondaga County executive.

On Tuesday, he laid out some new key team members.

Current chief of staff for Joanie Mahoney, Brian Donnelly, will now serve as deputy county executive. He replaces Bill Fisher, who announced his retirement.

Donnelly has previously been with the Thruway Authority, and was the former DOT commissioner.

Sue Stanczyk will be McMahon's chief of staff. She has been in county government for 30 years, including 10 as budget director.

McMahon wants to find innovative ways to solve infrastructure issues, working on a sales tax agreement and various development projects.

He will fulfill Mahoney's term through 2019, and would need to run for election in November 2019 to continue leading the county. Mahoney is leaving to take a position with SUNY-ESF.
