"Can I get that hairstyle to go?" That's not something you hear everyday, but that seems to be the change of the beauty industry.

More stylists are becoming mobile when it comes to working from hair salons and barbershops. Instead, they are meeting clients where they are: at homes, hotels, even jobs.

Spectrum News caught up with a few of these innovators, among them Paula Gooden, owner of Passions Salon and Spa and the creators of HausCall, a grooming app.

They say times have changed and they are keeping up with it.

"I think that it's the one vertical ... of the grooming and beauty industry that is finally evolving and changing," said Morgan Winbush, HausCall's chief marketing officer. "I think everything else has changed. You see with Uber, taxi cabs and commuting is completely different. I think this is the future of the beauty industry.

"People in 2018/2019, they're really looking for access, quick access. Everything has to be instantaneous. It only makes sense that your barber or your hairdresser can come to you ... It's perfect for where we are in time."

But at times, these innovators say operating a mobile beauty business can be challenging.

"It's a lot. It takes a lot for a mobile stylist to put themselves together and get all their things together and make sure that they're on time with traffic challenges or weather challenges," said Gooden. "When you are aprreciated by your clients, it makes a huge difference. My clients love me and I love them."

Gooden says one day she does plan to open a salon of her own, but will continue to offer mobile services.

The creators of HausCall hope to expand their operations in Upstate New York in the near future.
