Senator Charles Schumer is calling on the Department of Homeland Security to investigate a series of local cyber attacks.

The Central New York Regional Information Center has been the victim of nine hacks since April. It is one of 12 regional centers in New York that provides technological services to schools.

No information was breached, but the school day was distrupted 35 hours over multiple days.

"We don't know at this point who they are and why they're doing it. The districts have tried to find out on thier own and they haven't been able," said Schumer.

"We've put multiple different you know systems in place to try to prevent it, can't say we can never prevent it, but we're going to do everything we can to prevent it," said Jody Manning, the district superintendent.

OCM Boces was impacted in the attacks, but school officials insist all information is safe.
