One of Central New York’s largest employers is hiring in a big way. Our parent company, Spectrum, is adding at least 100 new jobs at its regional call center in East Syracuse.

The customer service representatives being hired will handle billing and account inquiries from subscribers in multiple states, and will bring total employment in the center to more than 300. The company says the additions are the result of increased demand for services, and also part of the company’s pledge to return call center jobs to the U.S.

The jobs offer a starting wage of $15 an hour with full benefits.

We’re looking for folks who have some tried and true customer service skills, folks usually from the restaurant industry or retail, or of course previous call center experience is always helpful,” said Dodie Murphy, senior director of customer service for Spectrum.

But Murphy also says no prior experience is necessary.

Spectrum will be holding two open interview sessions for those interested in the jobs.  The first one is next Tuesday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., with the second session planned for Tuesday, November 6.

Candidates should first apply online at the Spectrum Careers website.
