The Baldwinsville Marching band is about to get the thrill of a lifetime.
They've been selected to perform in the 131st Rose Parade in 2020.
They marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade 4 years ago. Students are still trying to wrap their heads around the idea of this prestigious opportunity.
"I don't know it was just so unbelievable I was in total shock,” said Desiree Hoff, a sophomore at Baldwinsville. “It's such a great experience and like I'm so excited."
"It's priceless I mean that's why you do this,” said Baldwinsville Marching Band Director Casey Vanderstouw. “You do this so that kids can have opportunities like that to perform on a national stage again, I mean some of our kids who are rookies marched in Macy's and as a senior they'll march in Pasadena it just doesn't get any better than that"
The band has a little more than a year to prepare. They are also looking into the budget and possible fundraisers to help get the band to California.
