A beautiful fall day means business was booming for North Country shops Wednesday.

People were strolling through downtown Clayton or sitting down by the water, taking in the view.

Many businesses were still open. Usually by this time of year shops are closed or are beginning to pack up as colder weather is on the way.

"We'll take as much warm weather as we can,” said Ken Cupp, the owner of Di Prinzio’s Restaurant. “And we'll take it as long as it will extend itself. We know that it will inevitably come to an end. But there is enough going on in the upstate area."

Some stores are beginning to limit hours for the fall and winter season.
