CLINTON, N.Y. -- The NHL pre-season game at the Clinton Arena may have come and gone, but some additional perks of winning the Kraft Hockeyville USA competition are yet to come.

Improvements were made to the Clinton Arena to get it ready for the game, but the money for those upgrades didn't come out of their prize money.

The arena won $150,000 for winning the challenge.

We're told the Town of Kirkland didn't actually get that money until a couple of days before the big game.

The groups who use the space will be meeting in the future to determine the best use for the funds.

As for how the town paid for the upgrades already completed, Kirkland's Parks and Recreation Director said the money came from private donors and not taxpayers.
