CLINTON, N.Y. -- Clinton Arena was in the national spotlight on Tuesday night.

Many came out to see the NHL Pre-season game between the Buffalo Sabres and Columbus Blue Jackets.

The arena was the hosting venue because it won the Kraft Hockeyville USA competition.

Residents told Spectrum News Clinton really is Hockeyville.

"It's all hockey. Like, kids can't wait for hockey to start. Kids who figure skate can't wait to get to the rink and skate. All different hours, 6:00 in the morning, 9:00 at night. Early morning games out of town, early morning games in town. They live and breathe hockey," said Clinton resident Rich Maline.

The Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Buffalo Sabres 4-2.
