A close friend of Assemblywoman Addie Jenne faces burglary charges, and her vehicle was located at the scene of his arrest.

State police were investigating a burglary at a garage on Route 11 in Antwerp around 3:45 a.m. Saturday. They learned that 43-year-old Nathan McElhone was a possible suspect.

When troopers arrived at his home, they say they found a vehicle containing items stolen from the garage. When they tried to arrest McElhone, they say he resisted arrest. Troopers used a taser and eventually took him into custody.

McElhone is charged with burglary, grand larceny, resisting arrest and harassment.

Jenne's communications director confirms the vehicle found outside McElhone's home belongs to Jenne but did not say why it was there.

Jenne also released a statement, calling the allegations serious, declining further comment while the legal process plays out.
