One of the people hoping to fill Anthony Brindisi's assembly seat is set to have his day in court.

Democrat Christopher Salatino is trying to get back on the ballot.

He was removed by a state supreme court order due to alleged problems with petition signatures.

However, Salatino maintains he did not engage in fraudulent activity and is bringing the fight to the court of appeals this Friday.

He believes voters are behind him.

"Everyday we're getting more and more calls for support. We've even gotten endorsed by a couple organizations since then just in support of us, and financial support from them as well, which is kind of nice," Salatino said.

Three other candidates are on next week's primary ballot.

Democrat Marianne Buttenschon, and Republicans, Dennis Bova and Frederick Nichols.
