It's that time of year again, as students across the region are heading back to school. And with the new school year, an influx of traffic with buses back on the roads.

Before students head out the door, law enforcement are reminding parents to go over proper school bus safety with their kids.

And drivers are being reminded to use caution and be patient when out driving both before and after school hours.

"Driver's should be aware that the red means stop and to pay attention whether they're on a divided highway or a two lane high way and make sure that yellow doesn't mean fast and pass, it should mean prepare to stop,” New York State Police Troop D Public Information Officer Jack Keller.

Law enforcement officials will be out issuing tickets to ensure people are following the law.
