GEDDES, N.Y. -- People who went to the fair Thursday got to experience the first-ever Grape Day.
Fairgoers got to sample all sorts of grape products, including wine.
The grape is New York’s super fruit.
This gave wine-lovers a chance to learn how to make their favorite vintage wine.
The New York Wine and Grape Foundation held a wine seminar Thursday afternoon.
One winemaker says there are no secrets to the business, just hard work and a love for what you do.
“There’s not very many jobs where you can actually take something from the soil and turn it all the way into a finished, beautiful, shelf-stable product and hand it to someone,” said Chris Stamp, with Lakewood Vineyard.
The day was made as a promise to reinvigorate and boost the state's grape industry – declared in April at the State's Concord Grape Summit.
