While many kids look forward to summer break, some in the Syracuse area know it means they might not know where their next meal is coming from.

It's called food insecurity.

Congressman John Katko joined children from the district, at the Boys and Girls Club Tuesday, to highlight the importance of the summer nutrition program.

It's one of dozens of locations where kids can get meals twice a day, on weekdays during the summer.

School officials say it's a concern for 83% of the district's children.

"You're looking at probably 22,000 students. Thats a high number. And for them to be able to come and have a meal at a place they are comfortable in, makes it even greater", says Pat Driscoll, Syracuse Boys & Girls Club executive director.

Students can get something to eat at 45 different locations, including parks, community centers and even libraries around the city.
