The swimming area at Verona Beach State Park is back open.

It was closed for nearly a month. In July, the water tested positive for the presence of blue-green algae.

But as of Saturday, visitors were allowed back in the water and were told it's safe to swim.

"Yeah, the water looks okay and obviously there's some other folks going in and we're just kind of playing around in the shallow end so everything seems fine," said Chris Gerlach, a Baldwinsville Resident.

If you see any signs of blue green algae, it's recommended that you stay out of the water and report it to your local Health Department.
