Each week, the group "We Rise Above the Streets" has hosted 'Sandwich Saturday' under the railroad bridge on South Salina Street in Syracuse.

But for the first time in two years, the group was forced to switch locations.

The change came after the sidewall of the railroad bridge collapsed two weeks ago.

Volunteers say community residents began reaching out concerned about the future location for the program---which feeds dozens in the community.

However, through the organization's connection with the city, members were able to land a new spot-- Billings Park.

Some say the park may actually be a more centralized location than the bridge.

But, organizers say no matter the location--the mission and outpouring community support doesn't change.

"When I first heard about the collapse of the bridge, I was not even worried because this organization is so powerful in the City of Syracuse. Where ever we go, the community is going to follow. That's how powerful we are now. We're doing something in this city that noone has ever done. We're bringing people together from different waks of life, different colors, different religions to come to this organization and make sack lunches and to be here for one reason---is to help humanity," said Alamin Muhammad, We Rise Above the Streets Founder.

As construction continues on the bridge, Sandwich Saturday will remain at Billings Park.

It is unclear if the park will become a permanent location.
