It's the 198th annual Lewis County Fair.

A $50,000 grant announced by State Senator Joe Griffo will help keep the fair running into the future. Organizers say showcasing agriculture is their number one priority.

That's exactly what the money will be used for.

"Behind me here you see a tent and we're going to replace the tent with a permanent barn so the cows can have a better living quarters for the week of the fair and the exhibitors will have a nicer time to present their cows," President of Lewis County Fair Doug Hanno.

Construction on the project is expected to begin this fall or next spring.
