An investigation into a reported abduction in the town of Pompey was actually a hoax.

The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office tells us a woman told an Uber driver that she had escaped from a home on Indian Hill Road around 10:00 p.m. on Friday.

She claimed two of her friends were still being held against their will.

The driver called 911 and authorities closed a number of roads around the home.

After speaking with people at the home, authorities charged 29-year-old Yenitza Agosto with 3rd degree falsely reporting an incident.

They also charged her with false personation for lying about her name.
