Sounds of music filled the streets of Syracuse as International Make Music Day was held Thursday.
To celebrate, visitors listened to free, live music all around the downtown area.
Syracuse joined 800 cities around the world, doing the same. The goal is to bring diverse groups of people together to simply enjoy live music.
"People are passing by and cheering us on and honking their horns and they're here eating their lunch just clapping along and it's been pretty kind of cool,” said Make Music Day performer Luis Molina.
More than 30 musicians joined Syracuse's first make music day celebration.
