A Syracuse pub wins Best Burger in New York State for a third time.

New York's Beef Council has crowned Ale 'N' Angus Pub's 'Power Play Burger' number one.

The Power Play burger consists of prime rib on top of a beef patty with American cheese, lettuce and tomato, all sandwiched in a grilled Kaiser roll.

Voters went on social media to narrow it down to the final 4-burgers, which were then judged by an anonymous customer.

Pub owners say the Syracuse Crunch helped pave the way for the creation in 2012.

"We'll give some out between periods,” said Owner of Ale ‘N’ Angus Randy Beach. “So we did and people started eating it and they loved it and we kept the power play and it went on the menu and it’s been history in the making.

Ale 'N' Angus Pub also won in 2012 and 2013.

This was the first year for the contest since 2013 due to a lack of funding.
