UTICA, N.Y. -- A Blossvale woman pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and DWI on Monday.

Jennifer Pritchard, 43, was on Oriskany Street in Utica in February, when her vehicle crossed the double yellow lines, hitting another vehicle driven by 87-year old Janet Moskal -- who died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Pritchard's attorney said his client has shown remorse.

"It's a situation where admittedly she drank more than she should have on the occasion of the accident, and the result and catastrophe of a loss of a life is a result of that," said Pritchard's attorney George Aney. "So I don't think she'll ever fully recover from the emotional consequences."

Pritchard faces a minimum of 6 1/2 years behind bars. Sentencing is scheduled for July.
