Business owners and developers in Utica are showing some support for the downtown hospital project.
Project leaders recently announced that properties may have to be taken through eminent domain, which is being met with opposition.
But more than 20 nearby business owners and developers showed their support Thursday.
Their hope is for the project to benefit all stakeholders.
"My hope is at the end of the day this will all work out for everybody,” said Frank DuRoss, cofounder of Mohawk Valley Garden. “Right now, it's a little bit rough around the edges, but I'm hoping that things get resolved in a positive way for everybody."
The Certificate of Need application was approved last week.
Officials say it allows them to move forward with finalizing the facility's design, completing the state Environmental Quality Review and completing property acquisition.
