Some in the Syracuse University community are speaking up after a fraternity was suspended for "troubling and disturbing" videos.

Students rallied Wednesday, calling for SU to hold Theta Tau accountable.

The school suspended the chapter after learning of the videos, but this group wants to see the fraternity's expulsion from campus. They also demanded that the school release the videos, one of which was obtained by The Daily Orange Wednesday night.

The SU Chancellor said it contained words and behaviors that were extremely racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic, sexist and hostile to people with disabilities.

According to the Daily Orange, the videos were posted in a secret Facebook group called 'Tau of Theta Tau.'

The students want those involved identified.

"We want them in order for our students to feel safe on campus knowing what rhetoric is being told on our campus,” said SU Sophomore Tayla Myree. “Basically, so marginalized students know what kinds of people are saying these kinds of things so that we can protect ourselves from them."

Other students took the the podium to express their feelings towards the actions of the fraternity.

SU's chancellor says the Department of Public Safety is investigating to identify the people involved, and to take legal and disciplinary action.

Theta Tau is a local chapter of a professional engineering fraternity.
