The second-oldest business in Armory Square is celebrating 30 years of helping not just its customers, but also its employees.

Provisions Bakery is run by AccessCNY, an agency with programs that help people who have brain injuries, mental health or developmental issues. It opened in 1988, and it's helped around 1,000 people in Central New York with job training and life skills.

They are hired at the bakery on a part-time, 20-hour schedule, as servers, cashiers or bakers.

Most of Provisions workers stay for about a year of two. AccessCNY says the idea is to help with life-long skills so workers can move on to another long-term job.
