Former NASCAR star Tony Stewart has reportedly settled the lawsuit that stemmed from a deadly crash that took a local man's life.

In 2014, Kevin Ward Jr. was hit and killed at the Canandaigua Motorsports Park. Ward's parents claimed that Stewart gunned his engine, forcing his car to skid before striking the man. Stewart says he never saw the other driver on the track that night.

A wrongful death trial had been scheduled for next month in a federal court in Utica.

ESPN's report says the two sides will instead meet in court on April 12 to sign off on the terms of the deal.
