BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Each April 3 marks an emotional day for the Binghamton community.  The tragedy was not only one of the deadliest shootings in the area, but across the nation.

A total of 13 people were killed in a shooting rampage at the American Civic Association, before the shooter turned the gun on himself.

Nearly a decade later, the community continues to come together each year to honor those loved ones lost.

The American Civic Association is holding their annual vigil at the Memorial Park Tuesday evening. That park was created just a few years back, to forever remember the 13 victims.

Prayers and speeches from religious leaders and family members will lead the service.  And the names of the fallen will be read aloud followed by a moment of silence.

The memorial service will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and anyone is welcome to pay tribute.
