A major rehabilitation project on the westbound John Glenn Boulevard Bridge is underway.

The bridge, which is located between Farrell and Cold Springs Roads, goes over the Onondaga Lake Outlet.

The project includes replacing the concrete bridge decks as well as painting the steel beams.

During construction traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions, but expect westbound traffic to be diverted to the eastbound bridge.

Additionally, you should prepare for delays and consider alternate routes whenever possible.

Officials expect the project will be finished by the end of this construction season.
