SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A man who has been missing since November is found dead in Syracuse. John "Charles" Frazier's family is now remembering his life, but also asking what happened after he vanished.

"They called me and said his lungs and stomach were full of water and that he drowned," said John Charles Frazier Sr.

John Charles Frazier Sr. is preparing to do the unimaginable.

"Now I have to bury my son and I always thought my son was going to bury me," he said.

His son, John Charles Frazier Jr., was last seen on November 18th, 2017 leaving Destiny USA.

On Monday, Frazier's body was found less than a mile away in an area around the Creek Walk Trailhead, near Hiawatha Boulevard.

"It's just unbelievable, I just can't believe that my son is gone," said Frazier, in disbelief.

Frazier was not only a son, but a brother and a father.

Syracuse police say Frazier's death appears to be an accidental drowning although the investigation remains ongoing.

They say it is unclear how long he was there before he was located and it's unlikely the medical examiner will be able to provide an exact date of death.

"I think there's more to it than this, than my son just drowning. I think there's more to it than that," speculated Frazier.

Syracuse police first reported the 25-year-old as missing in early December. They reported that Frazier's family was concerned for his safety. Police say the department's missing persons section followed any leads that came in.

Frazier had active warrants out at the time of his disappearance and detectives from the warrant squad were also looking for him, according to police.

"But they did not put any effort into finding my son and I just don't understand why," said Frazier.

On Wednesday, Frazier's loved ones gathered at the site he was found. They held a vigil -- creating a memorial of Fraizer. It included photos of him with his children. Frazier's father says he is confused, frustrated and hurting.

"I'm going to get to the bottom of it. If I hire my own people, if I have to come out of my own pocket. I'm going to find out what happened to my son," said Frazier's father.

Anyone with information about what happened should contact the Syracuse Police Department at 315-442-5222.
