Celebrations were two-fold.

Syracuse's annual parade 'Dublin Down in the Emerald City,' fell on St. Patrick's Day.

Thousands lined South Salina Street for the big day.

About 130 groups participated in the parade from dancers to pipe bands to local groups.

This year's route was extended making its way around Seymour Street.

People loving the opportunity to celebrate their Irish pride.

"I am so excited. It's not as cold as it was last year. I'm having a good time. I've got mad stuff...my beads and stuff. I'm so excited. It's actually nice outside. All the cops and dogs are over here and it's really nice," said Courtney Geans, a spectator.

This is the 36th year the parade has taken place.

It's one of the largest annual events in the city.
