New York Sea Grant and the Department of Environmental Conservation are introducing a new grant to increase eco-friendly recreation projects.

The $200,000 grant will fund up to eight ecosystem-based management projects surrounding the Great Lakes. Each project will receive up to $25,000.

The goal is to reinforce Governor Andrew Cuomo's efforts to promote New York's waterways and increase tourism. A webinar will be held on March 19 to help those interested in taking part in the projects.

The proposal deadline is May 1 at 4:30 p.m.
