Samra Osmanovic, 20, was one of three killed last Friday in a two-car crash in the Town of Onondaga. On Monday, family and friends gathered in Muslim tradition for a prayer before the burial.

"She was everything you wanted in a sister. She was like a human diary. She was always there when you needed her," said Samra Osmanovic's sister Hasmira. "I'm falling apart. She was everything."

Samra's death follows her own mother's passing. Her mother died on February 13 of cancer. But in the midst of so much tragedy, Hasmira is trying to channel her sister's strong will.

"She doesn't want her passing to stop anyone," Hasmira said. "She wishes the best for everyone. She was never the person to stop you from what you wanted."

Samra was diagnosed with meningitis when she was 4. All of her limbs were amputated, and as a result, she was wheelchair-bound.

"But she didn't let that stop her. She graduated high school and she went off to college. She changed everyone," said Hasmira.

Those who knew Samra say her determination was inspiring.

"She was my rock. She was everyone's rock. Everyone was able to go to her for everything. She was always there to pull them right back up," said friend Jillian Henry.
