Several breweries from the Capital Region and beyond were in the Spa City Saturday for the 7th annual Saratoga Beer Summit.

The summit marked the end of 'Beer Week' in Saratoga and featured two sold-out sessions that brought nearly 3,000 people to Saratoga City Center.

Vendors packed the City Center with offers of more than 160 craft beer samples.

There are 400 breweries across New York, which the state says breaks a previous record set back in 1876.

The founder of Adirondack Brewery, which opened in 1999 when there were less than 40 breweries in the state, says the growth is exciting.

“It's amazing for me to see what’s happened in the last 20 years. There's over 400 breweries in the state right now, which is amazing. It's been exciting to see the transformation. When we first opened, New Yorkers didn’t like state beer at all, they didn't even know about it, now they’re seeking it out, coming to events like this," said John Carr, founder of Adirondack Brewery.

For anyone who couldn’t make it to Saratoga on Saturday, there will be a New York State Brewery Festival at The Desmond Hotel in Colonie on March 3.
