There will soon be more opportunities for those interested to weigh in on the proposed downtown Utica hospital.

The Mohawk Valley Health System announced Friday, it has started the state's Environmental Quality Review process. It forces project planners to consider environmental impacts as well as social and economic factors.

Once it's complete, an Environmental Impact Statement will be drafted.

As part of the process, the public will be able to review documents from the process and submit comments or questions related to environmental impacts. A public hearing will be scheduled once the impact statement is available.
