The Genius New York Competition is back with six teams working on innovations in unmanned systems.

People are competing for the top prize of $1 million. But everyone participating will walk away with some financial investment in their company.

Their specialties in the drone industry vary from data, hardware, software to agriculture and traffic study. Team members come from as far away as Switzerland, and will call the Syracuse area home for a year.

"UAS Unmanned Aerial Systems Space is growing very, very rapidly. Around the country, there are many, many regions and even in the world many, many regions, trying to become the center for that emerging technology. And we think we have it in Central New York. No one is going to beat us," Rick Clonan, CenterState CEO Entrepreneurship and Innovation Vice President.

These six teams were chosen from 250 applicants. The winner will be chosen on April 12.
